Carlos L. Duarte, 62, of Eloy died March 15, 2008 at home.
Visitation was to be from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at St. Helen of the Cross Catholic Church, with rosary recited at 7. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday by the Rev. Juan Carlos Aguirre. Burial will be in Eloy Memorial Park.
Mr. Duarte was born Nov. 8, 1945 in Navajoa, Mexico. He was a custodial worker.
Survivors include his wife, Virginia Salazar Duarte; five sons, Chris Zapata of San Diego, Michael Zapata of Casa Grande, Mark Zapata of Phoenix, Conrad Zapata and Carlos Duarte Jr. of Eloy; a daughter, Veronica Zapata-Vaughn of Phoenix; a brother, Ramon DeAlba of Nogales, Sonora, Mexico; two sisters, Alba DeArcos of Lincoln, Calif., and Patricia Parks of Citrus Heights, Calif.; 13 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his mother, Maria M. Duarte; two sisters, Rosa Martinez and Julia Heady; and a brother, Jose Gonzalez.
