Carlotta Gilbert

August 8, 1916 — April 17, 2018

Carlotta S. Gilbert passed away April 17, 2018, at the age of 101. She moved to Casa Grande when she was 25, as the bride of Guy Gilbert. If you asked, she would say she was a teacher. She was also a farmer, when her husband passed in 1969. Carlotta loved to travel. A trip to China was one of many she made.
She is survived by three daughter, Nada, Miriam and carol, three grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and six stepgranddaughters.
Carlotta had eight siblings and is survived by sister, Gloria.
Her community involvements included: Hoemako hospital board member, CAC board member, twice a delegate to Arizona Town hall, volunteer for literacy program, AFS board, Community Concert board, and in various capacities with the First Presbyterian Church. Carlotta was know to her friends and family for her generosity of spirit and time. The City of Casa Grande knew her for her generosity of land. Land was also donated along with Guy, Parke and Elaire Gilbert for the original Hoemako
Hospital and the First Presbyterian Church.
Services will be held Thursday, April 26, 2018 at 11am at the First Presbyterian Church, 702 E. Cottonwood Ln. Donations in memory of Carlotta can be made to the American Cancer Society and Heifer International for water.
