COOLIDGE - Carmen A. Lopez, 71, of Coolidge died Oct. 22, 2007 in Casa Grande.
Visitation was to be from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at J. Warren Funeral Services, Cole & Maud Coolidge Chapel. The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Indian Assembly of God, with Pastor John Davis officiating. Burial will be in Florence Cemetery.
Ms. Lopez was born a triplet on Feb. 10, 1936 in Florence to Jeff Lopez and Emilia Balderama. She was a homemaker. She was friendly and caring and dreamed of being a nurse and helping others. She was a devout, born-again Christian and praised God even during her illness.
She was called "Carmen, hija de Jeff." She played the saxophone and sang in her father's band, "Jeff's Ragtime Band," traveling the state and performing at nightclubs, weddings and dances. She enjoyed going to church, yard sales and riding her bike around Coolidge.
Survivors include three daughters, Melva Jaquez, Ernestina Mata and Lydia Alderete, all of Coolidge; three sons, Raymundo Mata of Thatcher, Mario Mata and Steven Munoz of Coolidge; a sister, Lena Reyes of Mesa; 28 grandchildren; and 34 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a brother, Manuel "Zoombie" Lopez, and a great-granddaughter, Hillary Newton
