Carmen G. Amaro

Carmen G. Amaro, 67, of Casa Grande died on Jan. 9, 2014, at Casa Grande Regional Medical Center.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Helen of the Cross Catholic Church in Eloy. Burial will be in Eloy Memorial Park.

Ms. Amaro was born on Jan. 16, 1946, in the Toltec area and was a daughter of Carmen and Ramon Gomez Sr. She was a homemaker and loved to be with her family. Her life was complete when she was cooking for them and spending time with her grandchildren. She loved going to casinos, playing bingo, camping and fishing.

Survivors include three daughters, Irma Montijo of Phoenix, Alice Barrera of Maricopa and Elisa Vasquez of Casa Grande; a son, Francisco Amaro of Casa Grande; two sisters, Isabel Castillo of Phoenix and Sally Velasco of California; three brothers, Ramon Gomez Jr. of Phoenix, Frank Nolasco of Eloy and John Gomez of Phoenix; 28 grandchildren; and 42 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Mary Ann Ramirez and Francis Poulsen, and a grandson, Arthur C. Montijo III.
