Carmen Leon, 96, died on March 6, 2014, at Citadel Care Center in Mesa.
The scripture service will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at J. Warren Funeral Services, Cole & Maud The Gardens Chapel.
Ms. Leon was born on Feb. 16, 1918, in Tucson and was a daughter of Miguel A. and Geronima Apalatequi. She was a homemaker and enjoyed spending time at Harrah’s Ak-Chin Casino. She looked forward to family visiting, and her hobbies were cooking and gardening.
Survivors include a daughter, Yolanda Canchola Ysiano; a son, David Canchola; a sister, Amalia Apalatequi Chavez; 15 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Ester Canchola Pepper; two sons, Danny and Joe Canchola; a sister, Alicia Apalatequi Martinez; and a brother, Antonio M. Apalatequi.
