Carmen Madrid

ELOY — Carmen A. Madrid, 70, of Eloy died on Dec. 7, 2012, at Casa Grande Regional Medical Center.
Visitation will begin at 8:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Helen of the Cross Catholic Church, with rosary recited at 9:30. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. by the Rev. Juan Carlos Aguirre.
Mrs. Madrid was born on Sept. 25, 1942, in Eloy and was a daughter of Francisco and Rosa Acuna. She was an educational assistant at Picacho Elementary School and worked there for 22 years. She was a member of St. Helen's Church, taught Catechism, did fundraising for the church and sang with its mariachi group. She was known for her popovers.
Survivors include her husband, Augustin T. "Woody"; two daughters, Rosa Montoya and Deborah Madrid Vitela of Casa Grande; a son, Augustin J. Madrid of Eloy; a sister, Celia Montijo of Eloy; a brother, Frank Acuna of Eloy; and four grandchildren. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Armando, Eugene and Ramon Acuna.
