SACATON — Carol "Gronkie" Antone, 56, of Sacaton died on March 9, 2012, at Chandler Regional Medical Center.
Visitation will be from 6 to 10 p.m. Thursday at the District 3 Service Center. The funeral will be at 7 a.m. Friday at First Presbyterian Church in Sacaton, with Loretta Blackwater officiating. Burial will be in East Sacaton Cemetery.
Mrs. Antone was born on Sept. 13, 1955, in Sacaton. She was a legal secretary II for the Gila River Indian Community and enjoyed spending time with family, especially her grandchildren. She enjoyed playing softball with the Sacaton Chargers and also basketball in her younger days. She coached the Our Gang tee ball team. She enjoyed going to casinos, doing crafts, watching her grandchildren play tee ball and loved dancing.
Survivors include two daughters, Vanessa and Kelsey Rivera of Sacaton; a son, Micah Antone of Sacaton; five sisters, LaVerta Rhodes, Valerie Paul and Vickie Enos, all of Sacaton, Joella Nish and Sylvia Enos Martinez of Stotonic; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph; her parents, Leslie H. Enos and Fern R. Jackson; a sister, Adrienne Enos; and two brothers, Thomas Enos Sr. and Ira Paul.
