Cecil John Antone

BLACKWATER - Cecil Antone, 58, of Blackwater died May 23, 2008 in Casa Grande.


Visitation will be from 6 to 10 p.m. Friday at the District 1 Service Center. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 7 a.m. Saturday at Holy Family Catholic Mission by the Rev. Ed Meulemans. Burial will be in Holy Family Catholic Cemetery.

Mr. Antone, known as "Hogg," was a member of the Gila River Indian Community and was born Sept. 12, 1949 in Sacaton. He attended Coolidge High School. He played football and was a member of the cross country team that won the 1967 Class A state title. He worked as a laborer.

He enjoyed listening to old-time rock and blues and watching football and basketball games. Most of all he enjoyed spending time with his three children and grandchildren, who were his pride and joy.

Survivors include two daughters, Tina Antone and Vanessa Antone of Coolidge; a son, John Antone of Blackwater; two brothers, Russell Randall of Sacaton and Robert Antone of Phoenix; and nine grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his companion, Theresa Antone; his parents, Sylvester St. Pierre and Marie Antone, and his stepfather, Jerry "Sweeney" Randall; and a sister, Linda Antone.
