Cesar F. Leija

CASA GRANDE - Cesar F. Leija Sr., 78, died on June 7, 2020.

Mr. Leija was born on May 21, 1942, to Benito and Elena Leija in Sonora, Texas. He loved spending time with his family and enjoyed helping others in need.

He worked in Pinal County law enforcement for 20 years and was one of the first campus police officers at Central Arizona College.

Survivors include his wife, Julia; four daughters and sons, Mary Leija Tarango, Cesar Leija Jr. and Adoph Leija, all of Casa Grande, and Veronica Butler of Chandler; 10 siblings, Joel Leija Sr. of Eloy, Eleazar Leija of Eloy, Noel Leija of Casa Grande, Benito Leija Jr. of Modesto, California, Salomon Leija of Arizona City, Elizabeth Smith of Casa Grande, Bertha Beesley of Eloy, Victoria Chavez of Williams, Helen Lesniazk of Ridgecrest, California, and Annette Leija of Temple, Texas; 18 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother, Daniel Leija, and a sister, Rachel Fraga.
