Charles Earl Avery

November 30, 1982 — November 13, 2021

On Saturday, November 13, 2021, Charles (Chuck, Chuckie) Avery left us to be with the Lord after a long and hard-fought battle with cancer. Chuck fought with all his might. He never gave up; even Chuck Norris would have stood in awe (and fear).

Chuck was born November 30, 1982, in Traverse City, Michigan, the son of Bill and Val Avery, who survives. He is also survived by two sisters, Jessica (Jason) Helwig and Heather Kelsey. In addition, Chuck leaves behind seven nieces and nephews; Aidan Kelsey, Alayna Kelsey, Gwenevere Helwig, Aliana (Gator) Kelsey, Lola Helwig, Jett Helwig, and Adalaide Kelsey. Chuck also left behind his former wife and the love of his life, Amanda Cicola.

He will be deeply missed by his family and friends, of which he had many. Chuck was able to make friends easily, and if you were a friend of Chuck, you knew the value of that relationship.

Chuck was known for his laughter and his zest for life. He lived life like it meant something. He tried every day to make it the best day, not only for himself but also for everyone he encountered.

Chuck spent his final years as a dog trainer and rescuer. It would be impossible to count the dogs that Chuck was able to save with training and rehabilitation. He loved dogs and felt that all of them deserved to find a safe and loving “forever home.”

There are people in this world that feel the rain and others that just get wet. Chuck always felt the rain. He let it reach deep inside him and allowed it to make him a better person.

We will miss you Chuck and will continue to learn from the lessons you taught us.

TMNT for life!!!
