MARICOPA — Charles Ray Davis, 89, of Maricopa died on April 21, 2010 at Jaidon Manor Assisted Living in Casa Grande.
Visitation will begin at 9 a.m. Monday at J. Warren Funeral Services, Cole & Maud The Gardens Chapel. The funeral will follow at 10. Burial will be at 1:30 in National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona, 23029 N. Cave Creek Road in Phoenix.
Mr. Davis was born on Aug. 10, 1920 in Mount Vernon, Ill., and was a son of Gilbert and Anna Davis. He served in the Navy during World War II aboard the USS Harris. He later worked in maintenance. He was a member of Moose and Veterans of Foreign Wars and enjoyed gardening and oil painting. He loved spending time with his family, especially the grandchildren.
Survivors include a son, Perry L. Davis of Prescott Valley; a brother, Norman Davis of Indiana; three sisters, Betty Dulaney and Doris Short of Mount Vernon and Bobbie Nuxoll of Florida; seven grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Madie M.; a son, Richard Davis; a brother, Leslie Davis; a grandchild, Rodney Davis; and a great-grandchild, Kyle Davis.
