SACATON — Colleen Ann Jackson, 51, of Sacaton died on June 29, 2013, at Mercy Gilbert Medical Center.
Visitation will be from 7 to 11 p.m. Friday at the District 3 Service Center. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 7 a.m. Saturday at St. Anthony Catholic Mission in Sacaton. Monsignor Ed Meulemans and Pastor Aaron Johns will officiate. Burial will be in East Sacaton Cemetery.
Mrs. Jackson was born on Oct. 3, 1961, in Beaufort, S.C. She graduated from Casa Grande Union High School in 1980 after playing on the basketball and softball teams. She received a scholarship to Yavapai College.
In 1980 she was crowned Miss Indian Yavapai, the same year she was runner-up to Miss Gila River. She later was crowned to fulfill the term as Miss Gila River. She was a school and post office custodian in Sacaton. She loved spending time with her family and friends and especially her grandchildren. She was an animal lover, especially of her dogs.
She is survived by three nieces and six grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Elfredrick; her parents, Henry E. Mack and Helen Ricardo; and two brothers, Mitchell and Irving Mack.
