Concepcion "Concha" Garcia Cordova, 88, of Casa Grande died on Jan. 10, 2014, at St. Joseph’s Hospital and Medical Center in Phoenix.
Visitation will begin at 11 a.m. Thursday at J. Warren Funeral Services, Cole & Maud The Gardens Chapel. The scripture service will follow at noon.
Mrs. Cordova was born on Dec. 8, 1925, in Santa Ana, Sonora, Mexico, and was a daughter of Guadalupe and Manuel Garcia. She was a homemaker and loved gardening, root beer floats, going to casinos, yard sales and her "lucky" color, yellow. She liked to cook with an iron skillet and make green chile con carne and tamales at Christmas. She also loved going to Golden Corral and riding around town with her best friend, Nora Nichols, and was spiritual.
A Casa Grande resident for more than 50 years, she loved her cats, Mrs. Kitty and Guapo, and the Arizona Diamondbacks, watching every game on TV. She especially loved her daughters and watching her grandchildren grow.
Survivors include two daughters, Teresa Miller of Arlington, Texas, and Eva Gillespie-Clute of Casa Grande; four grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Alfredo, and three sisters, Lolita and Anita Garcia and Adelina Ramirez.
