Cornelius Calvin Lewis, aged 71, passed away on May 17, 2024 He was born on May 27, 1952, in Sacaton to Timothy and Thelma Lewis. Cornelius was deeply devoted to his family and continually emphasized the importance of familial bonds to his children. His influence extended beyond his home as he sought to enact positive change within the community. Through his involvement in the school board and his guidance of the youth, he exemplified a strong commitment to ensuring everyone felt connected and supported.
His advocacy for individuals grappling with alcohol and substance abuse showcased his compassionate nature and dedication to helping others overcome their challenges. Cornelius had a versatile career in the legal field, wearing multiple hats with hard work and perseverance. In the face of various health obstacles, he displayed remarkable strength and courage, triumphing over each adversity with determination and resilience. His unwavering resolve to accomplish his goals made him a shining example not only to his family but also to numerous individuals whose lives he touched.
During his leisure hours, Cornelius found solace in activities such as woodwork, yard work, and gardening. He took pleasure in working on cars, watching movies, visiting casinos, and embracing adventure in all its forms.
He is survived by his daughters and son: Erica Sundust, Zandra Sundust, Shammie Jose, Zerlina Lopez, Whai Lewis, Conan Lewis; 27 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his children Morgan Sundust, Bobby Sundust, and Sambrina Lewis.
