SACATON - Cornelius M. Brown Sr., 69, of Sacaton died on Oct. 29, 2014, at home.
Visitation will begin at 6 p.m. Friday at his home. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 7:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Peter Catholic Church in Bapchule by Monsignor Ed Meulemans. Burial will be in Bapchule Cemetery.
Mr. Brown was born on March 31, 1945, in Chandler and was a son of Fernando Brown and Irene James. He attended St. Peter Mission School and Sherman Indian High School in Riverside, California. He worked on farms, in security and as a carpenter. In his free time he loved working on cars and enjoyed watching his great-grandchildren play outside. He enjoyed being with family and friends and listening to country music and Pima Express.
Survivors include his wife, Bernadette (Lopez) Brown; a son, Cornelius Brown Jr. of Sacaton; four daughters, Shelaine, Eileen and Betty Brown, all of Sacaton, and Ruby Terry of Stotonic; two stepsons, John and Ronald Delores of Sacaton; a stepdaughter, Melissa Pedro of Sacaton; two brothers, Emery Brown Sr. and Virgil Brown Sr. of Bapchule; two sisters, Patricia Warbus and Elaine Guzman of Bapchule; 24 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Violet Jones Brown, and two sons, Baby Boy Brown and Gary A. Brown Sr.
