ELOY - Crispin Chacon Mendoza, 91, died on Feb. 14, 2018.
Mr. Mendoza was born on Oct. 25, 1926, in what is now the ghost town of Pinal, near Superior, to Jose and Francisca Chacon Mendoza. He served in the Army and was awarded the World War II Victory Medal. He worked as a meat cutter for many years.
He enjoyed traveling, watching movies and sports, attending his grandchildren’s sporting events, working on cars, playing pool and making people laugh.
He was preceded in death by a son, Crispin Mendoza Jr.; two brothers, Senon and Jose Mendoza; and two sisters, Piedad and Julia Mendoza. He is survived by his wife, Ines Castro Mendoza; three sons, Alfred, Jose and Javier; two daughters, Irma Potter and Jo Rosalina Mendoza; 12 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Rosary recited at 9:30 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 23, at J. Warren Funeral Services, Valley Chapel, with funeral at 10. Graveside service in Eloy Memorial Park.
