Cruz Alvarez

Cruz Alvarez, 75, of Ak-Chin, died on July 7, 2024 at HonorHealth Scottsdale Osborn Medical Center.

 Mr. Alvarez was born on May 3, 1949, in Merced, California. He was a hard worker who loved his family dearly. His favorite hobbies included landscaping, gardening, carpentry, long drives in his truck, watching old westerns, and sitting outside enjoying the sunshine. He was loved by many and made a lasting impression on everyone he met.

 Survivors include three daughters, Esther Alvarez, Vickie Tavena, and Rebecca Alvarez, all of Ak-Chin; five grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren; and one sibling, Sophia Gillenwater, of Coolidge, Arizona. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mabel Alvarez, two brothers, Kelly Alvarez and Jose Juan Alvarez, and three sisters, Eva Esparza, Mercedes Alvarez, and Rosa Tarango.

 Graveside service to be held at the Ak-Chin Cemetery in Ak-Chin on Saturday, July 20, 2024 at 7am.
