SACATON - Cyrus Johnson, 80, died on Feb. 2, 2018.
Mr. Johnson was born on Oct. 20, 1937, to Cyrus Johnson Sr. and Lydia Johnson in Sacaton. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends. He was a jokester and enjoyed making people laugh. He was a generous person who helped others.
He was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Sacaton and also served as a lay pastor. He retired after 20 years working for the U.S. Bureau of Indian Affairs and served in the Army.
Survivors include three adult children, Loretta Blackwater of Sacaton Flats, Erna Mills of Sacaton and Cheryl Jackson of Long Beach, California; two siblings, Milford Johnson of Sacaton and Marlene Norris of Upper Santan; three grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Eleanor Johnson; sons Phillip Jackson and Paul Johnson; daughter Carla Johnson; and granddaughter Michelle Blackwater.
Wake service at 6 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 15, at the District 3 Service Center in Sacaton. Funeral Friday, Feb. 16, at 7 a.m. at First Presbyterian Church in Sacaton with Elder Loretta Blackwater officiating. Graveside service in West Cemetery in Sacaton.
