ELOY - Virgil Dale Chenoweth, 89, of Eloy died on March 1, 2018, in Casa Grande.
Mr. Chenoweth was born on May 6, 1928, in Vermillion County, Illinois, to Russell E. and Nora E. (Williams) Chenoweth. He served in the Air Force and received a bachelor’s degree in English from Sterling College in Sterling, Kansas, going on to receive a master’s degree in special education from Emporia State University in Kansas.
He taught special education for several years. He later received a minister’s ordination degree from the Assemblies of God and served many churches throughout his life. On April 9, 1972, he married Judith Ann Bell in Madison, Wisconsin. He was devoted to his family.
He is survived by his loving wife of almost 46 years; four daughters and sons, Cyndee McCullough of Beloit, Kansas, Ed Chenoweth of Salina, Kansas, Russell Chenoweth of Eloy and Kristi Schultz of Marshall, Wisconsin; two sisters, Marcella Herfel of Verona, Wisconsin, and Pauline Boileau of Ocala, Florida; a brother, Lee Chenoweth of Portage, Wisconsin; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.
Celebration of life at 11 a.m. on Friday, March 9, at Golden Harvest Cowboy Church in Arizona City.
