BLACKWATER — Dalton Jayroe Evans Sr., 51, of Blackwater died on April 17, 2010 in Sacaton.
The wake will begin at 6 p.m. Friday at the family home. The funeral there will be at 6 a.m. Saturday, with the Rev. Aaron Johns officiating.
Mr. Evans was born on Nov. 8, 1958 in Sacaton. He served in the military and was a construction worker. He was very easygoing and happy. He was always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need. That included opening his home to people who needed a place to stay. He was a cowboy who went to various reservations in Arizona to help round up stray cattle and also enjoyed bullriding. He loved to joke.
Survivors include two daughters, Barbara and Lisa Evans of Blackwater; two sons, Stanley and Dalton Evans Jr. of Blackwater; three sisters, Delberta Evans of Casa Grande, Caroldean Hurtado of Phoenix and Poppy Ann Evans of Bapchule; a brother, Delbert Evans Jr. of Blackwater; and eight grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Barbara and Delbert Evans Sr., and two sons, Jason and Cedric Evans.
