CASA GRANDE - Daniel "Dan" Van Roosenbeek, 80, died on Jan. 25, 2018.
Mr. Van Roosenbeek was a son of Theodore and Norma. He adored his family and his four-legged best friends Blackie and Pedro. A strong and fiercely independent man, he fought and defeated cancer. He staunchly stood for what he believed in.
He was an omnivorous reader who particularly enjoyed science fiction, philosophy, watching T.V., he also loved music of all genres. An avid sports fan, he was a passionate supporter of the Arizona Cardinals and loved having friendly rivalries with his brother Joe over football games that they watched together. There was some taunting and name-calling involved during these rather intense sessions of TV-watching, but nothing that anyone could object to, mostly. His wife, Uma, was the love of his life, and he never tired of leaving random notes around the house proclaiming his love for her.
