Daniel Mendoza

SANTAN - Daniel G. Mendoza Sr., 67, died on April 19, 2018, in Phoenix.

Mr. Mendoza was born on June 22, 1950, to Joe Angel and Amelia Mendoza in Sacaton. He loved spending time with his family and friends and also enjoyed life and watching sports.

He attended Haskell Indian Nations University in Lawrence, Kansas, was knowledgeable about surveying and helped build infrastructure as a heavy equipment operator. He was very proud of his accomplishments in the community and surrounding area.

Survivors include his wife, Shera L.; two sons and a daughter, Daniel Mendoza Jr. and Crystal Mendoza of Goodyear and Jason Francisco of Phoenix; seven siblings, Lydia Carpio, Jovita Canner, Helen Garza, Phillip, Joe and Albert Mendoza, all of Goodyear, and Ernest Mendoza of Santan; and two grandchildren. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Arthur Mendoza Sr., John Mendoza Sr. and Edward G. Mendoza.

Wake beginning at 6 p.m. on Thursday, April 26, at the District 4 Service Center. Funeral Mass celebrated at 8 a.m. on Friday, April 27, at St. Anne Catholic Mission, with graveside service following in St. Anne Catholic Cemetery.
