Danny Simpson

Danny D. Simpson, 74, of Chandler died on Feb. 12, 2014, at home.

Visitation was from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at J. Warren Funeral Services, Cole & Maud The Gardens Chapel in Casa Grande. The graveside service will be at 11 a.m. today in Eloy Memorial Park, with Pastor Don Brackbill officiating.

Mr. Simpson was born on July 13, 1939, in Ada, Okla., and was a son of Thornton R. and Sylvia (Allen) Simpson. He was a heavy-equipment mechanic and enjoyed spending time with his family. He also loved to minister to people. He was a man of many strengths and seemed to be able to make anything work, whether it be people or machinery. He was called "Alaskan adventurous" by his family.

Survivors include his wife, Rosa "Cathy"; four sons, Robert M. Simpson of Chandler, Scott A. Simpson of Panora, Iowa, Jeffrey T. Simpson of Mountain Home, Idaho, and Richard P. Simpson of Central Point, Ore.; five brothers, Jim, Louis and David Simpson, all of Chandler, Steve Simpson of Detroit and Ted Simpson of Tempe; four sisters, Carol Lamb and Patty Guadian of Casa Grande, Peggy Gross of Sherman, Texas, and Teresa Cordiro of Gilbert; 21 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Janie Simpson and Nancy Claxton.
