STOTONIC — Darlene Flood, 68, of Stotonic died on March 24, 2012, at home.
Visitation will be from 6 to 11 p.m. Friday at the District 4 Service Center. The funeral will be at 7 a.m. Sunday at Santan Baptist Church. Burial will be in Stotonic Cemetery.
Ms. Flood was born on Nov. 14, 1943, in Sells to Irving W. and Marian Cawker Flood. She was crowned Miss Gila River in 1962 and was a contestant in the Miss Indian Arizona Pageant. That same year she received a bachelor's degree at Arizona State University. She made many lifelong friends throughout her life, in school, as a military wife and at her places of employment.
She worked for the Bureau of Indian Affairs and Gila River Indian Community and was a materials manager. She served on the Vechij Himdag Mashchamakud School board and fully supported the students in all their activities.
Her sons, Sean E. and Albert L. Soatikee, preceded her in death.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Gila River Cancer Support Group account at Wells Fargo Bank or the American Cancer Society.
