Darlene Thomas

AK-CHIN - Darlene A. Thomas, 62, died Dec. 12, 2008 at Banner Desert Medical Center in Mesa.


The wake and rosary began at 5:30 p.m. Sunday at the Collette Thomas home. Funeral Mass was celebrated at 8 a.m. Monday at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Mission. Burial was in Ak-Chin Cemetery.

Ms. Thomas was born in Ak-Chin and was a daughter of Anthony L. and Phillipa C. Thomas. She was a nurse. She was active in the Ak-Chin Elderly Group and enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

Survivors include a daughter, Collette Thomas of Ak-Chin; a brother, Leo Thomas of Ak-Chin; three sisters, Adeline, Patricia and Anna Thomas, all of Ak-Chin; and three grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Gary and Gregory Thomas, and a sister, Joyce Smith.
