Darrell C. Roberts

MARICOPA - Darrell C. Roberts, 68, of Maricopa died quietly at home on Dec. 10, 2018.

Mr. Roberts was born on Sept. 24, 1950, to William J. and Mary Jane (Warren) Roberts in Utica, New York. He graduated from high school at Delaware Academy in Delhi, New York, and State University of New York at Delhi with a degree in arts and sciences. He worked as a hypnotist, mechanic, mechanical designer and was proud to have worked for IBM in Endicott, New York, as a package design engineer.

He was a great story teller with a passion for motorcycles and loved animals, especially dogs, hummingbirds and rabbits. He was great at tweaking recipes until they were perfect and was known for his spaghetti sauce and his "wicked" sense of humor, which he passed on to his children. He also was stubborn and always strived to provide for his family. He was devoted to them.

Survivors include his wife and partner of 34 years, Suzanne (Burnard) Roberts; two sons, Sion D. Roberts and Delsin W. Phelps of Maricopa; a daughter, Alia P. Ray of Early, Texas; his mother; two brothers, Richard and William "Billy" Roberts of Hamden, New York; his special longtime friend, Margo Graham of West Davenport, New York; and grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Tanya L. Roberts.
