David A. Frie

On Monday, September 6, 2021, David A. Frie, loving husband and father of three children, passed away at the age of 75. David was born on December 18,1945, in Winona, Minnesota to Andrew and Betty Frie.

He received a bachelor of Arts in Mathematics and a teaching certificate at Colorado State College in 1968. He was honorably discharged from the U.S. Air Force in June 1968. In 1973, after teaching for a few years he completed a Master of Science in Statistics at the University of Arizona.

October15,1973, he married Roberta Frie. They raised three sons, Benjamin, Andrew and Robert.
He began his career in education at the Eloy Elementary School District in Eloy, Arizona where he served as a teacher, principal and business manager. He served for 31 years until his retirement in 2004.

David was active in the community. He served on Eloy City Council and as Mayor of Eloy. He was a certified Pinal County Sheriff’s deputy. Through his community service and work as an educator, he touched many lives in Pinal County. Dave was a dedicated father and husband. He was a good man.

David was preceded in death by his father, mother, and sister Jeannie Hefti of Lake Forest, California. He is survived by his wife, three sons, and his sister, Susanne Black of Palm Beach FL. David is also survived by, three daughter-in-laws, three grandsons and three granddaughters. They all brought him great joy.
