David Lee Frazey

CASA GRANDE - David Lee Frazey, 80, died on Jan. 14, 2017.

Mr. Frazey, a retired school psychologist, lived in Casa Grande beginning in 1965 and lived the past 10 years in Eloy's Robson Ranch. He was born on Nov. 7, 1936, to Lester and Viola (Huppert) Frazey of Wichita, Kansas. He spent his childhood in Kansas and graduated from high school in Wichita. He served in Navy from 1956 to 1962, leaving the service with the rank of lieutenant. He attended the University of Wichita (now Wichita State) and graduated in 1958 with a degree in economics.

He held various jobs throughout his career before retiring from the Coolidge Unified School District in 1997 after working as a school psychologist there for 21 years. While living in Casa Grande, he was active as an assistant scoutmaster with the Boy Scouts, a member of the Elks Lodge and a charter member of the Sunrise Optimist Club, serving as president in 1980. After retirement, he enjoyed reading to the students at various local elementary schools and delivering food as a volunteer with the local Seeds of Hope organization. He and his wife of 54 years, Helen, attended Rock Springs Church.

He is survived by his wife; a brother, Charles of Wichita; two sons, Michael of Mesa and Jim of Tempe; eight grandchildren:; and seven great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by a brother, Steve Frazey.

Celebration of life at 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 21, at First Presbyterian Church of Casa Grande.

Memorial contributions may be made to Seeds of Hope, The Salvation Army, Rock Springs Church or First Presbyterian Church of Casa Grande.
