David Navarrete Alvarez, 82, of Casa Grande died on Sept. 17, 2014, at home.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at J. Warren Funeral Services, Cole & Maud The Gardens Chapel, with rosary recited at 7. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church by the Rev. Ariel Lustan. Burial will be in Mountain View Cemetery.
Mr. Alvarez was born on April 24, 1932, in Valle de Guadalupe, Michoacan, Mexico, and was a son of Nicanor Alvarez and Cornilia Navarrete. He was a millwright and loved to weld, hunt, travel and garden. He raised cows and broke horses. Always smiling and waving, he was very happy, loving and a hardworking husband and father who loved being with his family and friends.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Helen; a son, Steven Alvarez of Casa Grande; and two sisters, Mary Louisa Valdez and Gracie Holmes of Kingman. He was preceded in death by three brothers and a sister.
