David Darrel Whitfield, 67, of Casa Grande died peacefully at home on Oct. 13, 2014, with his family by his side.
Inurnment will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in Mountain View Cemetery.
Mr. Whitfield was born on May 3, 1947, in Indianola, Oklahoma, and was a son of Lindsey and Myrtle Whitfield. He served in the National Guard and was an auto parts dispatcher, loving his job at Merle’s Automotive. He was a NASCAR fan and enjoyed the outdoors, especially camping at Box Canyon and four-wheeling. He was witty until the end.
Survivors include two daughters, Jennifer Meyer of Colorado Springs, Colorado, and Melissa Whitfield of Marana; four sisters, Evelyn McHaney and Gwenda Bain of Casa Grande, Betty Van Allen of Oklahoma and Linda Rodriguez of New Mexico; three brothers, Earl and Bobby Whitfield of Casa Grande and Troy Whitfield of Florida; and two grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Kathy, and a daughter, Michelle Whitfield.
