Delbert Paul Thomas, age 68, of Chui Chu, passed away on December 8, 2024. He was born on January 13, 1956, in Sacaton to Rose Pancho-Thomas and Enoch Thomas.
Delbert dedicated his life to serving others as a behavioral health advocate for the Tohono O'odham Nation and Casa Grande Community, where he worked with BHACA and Horizon. He proudly served as a civil servant in the Sif Oidak District and was an active member of St. Augustine Church.
In his earlier years, Delbert enjoyed playing sports, particularly baseball, basketball, and golf. He was a passionate fan of Arizona State University. Delbert shared a loving marriage with his wife, Gloria Blaine-Thomas, for 44 wonderful years.
He is survived by his children, Jennifer Thomas and Mark Thomas, and Shalynn Lopez, whom he raised with love. His siblings, Frances Antone and Terrance Thomas. Delbert is preceded in death by his beloved parents, wife Gloria Blaine-Thomas, and two siblings, Cornelius Thomas and Arlene P. Thomas.
A service in his honor will be held on Friday, December 13, 2024, at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Casa Grande. Visitation will begin at 11:30 a.m., followed by a Rosary at 12:00 p.m. and Mass at 12:30 p.m. Burial will take place at 3:30 p.m. at South Chui Chu Cemetery.
