ELOY — Delphia Elois "Del" Rankin, 87, died on June 7, 2012, in Albuquerque, N.M.
Mrs. Rankin had lived in Edgewood, N.M., with her daughter and son-in-law, Resa and Jay Schreffler, for the last four years. She was born in Tishomingo, Okla., to Ruel and Della Neely and was raised in Lawton, Okla. She married John Rankin in 1947 and they moved to Eloy in 1953.
She and her husband were residents of Eloy and Arizona City and owned Rankin Plumbing Company in Eloy until their retirement in 1990. She also owned Rankin Floral, worked for Casa Grande Valley Newspapers Inc., was the bookkeeper for an Air Force pilot training program at Eloy Municipal Airport and taught at Curiel School for 20-plus years. She was active in numerous organizations; dearest to her heart was Order of the Eastern Star.
She is survived by her husband of 64 years; her daughter; a foster daughter, Ramona Hernandez of Tucson; a brother, Don Neely of Lawton; a sister, Betty Buchanan of Oklahoma City; and three grandchildren.
The funeral will be held at J. Warren Funeral Services, Valley Chapel in Eloy on Saturday. Visitation will begin at 9 a.m., with the funeral following at 10. A graveside service will follow in Eloy Memorial Park Cemetery.
