Ak-Chin Delphine Marie Vasquez, 85, of the Ak-Chin Indian Community, and a former resident of Stanfield, was called home on Monday, May 18, 2020. Ms. Vasquez was born March 19, 1935, in Ak-Chin Village to John Lewis Stephens and Amelia Isabell Andres Stephens. Delphine attended school in Riverside, California. Delphine loved serving the Lord and was a homemaker who enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren, doing beadwork, sewing, cooking, watching movies, dancing in her younger years, and participating in activities at the Ak-Chin Elder Center.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Catarino Vasquez, son's David and Reynaldo, her brothers Herman "Danny" and Barabus. She is survived by her daughter Elvera, her brothers Rupert (Frances) and Johnny (Patricia) Stephens, sisters Lillian Shade, Mabel (Cruz) Alvarez, Jeannie Stephens. Delphine was a proud grandparent to many grandchildren and great grandchildren. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews and friends who loved her very much.
She will be remembered for her caring heart and willingness to help others. Graveside service will be held May 31, 2020 at 6am at the Ak-Chin Indian Community Cemetery.
