Dennis Miles Jr., aged 76, peacefully passed away at his home in Sacaton on November 26, 2023. He was born to his loving parents, Dennis Sr. and Lenora Miles, in Sacaton.
Dennis was widely known for his strong will and a respectful demeanor, coupled with his dedicated work ethic. His journey began at the tender age of 13 when he embarked on his working life. For 15 years, he served as a supervisor at Gila River Farms, showcasing his exceptional skills. Later on, Dennis became a CDL truck driver for Gila River Indian Community, District 4, where he spent 20 years contributing his talents to the community. He had an unparalleled drive for excellence in everything he pursued and consistently challenged himself to achieve new heights.
Outside of his professional life, Dennis found immense joy in being a grandpa. Gardening and spending time outdoors were among his favorite pastimes; he especially delighted in planting fruit trees and even made sure each of his children and grandchildren had their very own tree. Passionate about rodeos and all things related to stock animals, Dennis's love for bull riding extended beyond admiration as he even encouraged his children to take up the sport. Taking pleasure in moments of entertainment, he frequented casinos and avidly followed football and basketball games.
A deeply loving father, Dennis supported his children wholeheartedly and filled their lives with affection. Known for his remarkable sense of humor and playful nature, he enjoyed sharing jokes with those around him.
He is survived by Jacqueline Brown - his devoted companion - along with his sons and daughters: Dennis David Miles III, Donnie Miles, Pamela Whitman, Sherlene Miles, Janise Miles, Jimmy Miles, and Shaylene Miles. Additionally survived by his siblings: Loretta Cruz, Eldon Miles, Ruth Pasquale, Betty Valencia, Spencer Miles, and Gilbert Azule, he leaves behind a remarkable legacy. Dennis is also survived by 25 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren who will continue to cherish his memory.
In mourning the loss of Dennis, we remember his sons Calvin Miles Sr. and Dennis Miles IV, as well as his grandsons Zion Miles and Basil Whitman, who preceded him in death. Their memories will forever hold a special place in our hearts.
Dennis Miles Jr. touched the lives of many with his hardworking spirit, humor, and unwavering love for family. His impact will be felt for generations to come, and he will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. May his soul rest in eternal peace.
