SACATON — Derwin Dean Stevens, 50, died on March 31, 2013, at Mercy Gilbert Medical Center.
Visitation will be from 6 to 10 p.m. Friday at the Stevens home in Sacaton. The graveside service will be at 7 a.m. Saturday in Lower Santan Cemetery, with the Rev. Terry Irving officiating.
Mr. Stevens was born on May 14, 1962, in Sacaton. He was a construction worker and was funny and a joker who loved to tell stories. He was devoted to his family and loved to ride his Harley-Davidson and make war cries. He was a cook, a protector and a good teacher and had many friends.
Survivors include his wife, Deborah Burke-Stevens; a daughter, Harlie Stevens of Chandler; a son, Joseph Stevens of Casa Blanca; his parents, Billy Stevens of San Carlos and Leatrice Celeya of Santan; five brothers, Arnell, Anthony, Reeves, James and Billy Stevens Jr., all of San Carlos; six sisters, Janice, Stephanie, Angelia and Billie Stevens, all of San Carlos, and Nada and Karen Celeya of Santan; and three grandchildren.
