SAN TAN VALLEY - Deveda "DeDe" Jones, 46, of San Tan Valley died on Aug. 15, 2019.
Mrs. Jones was born on Sept. 22, 1972, in Casa Grande and was the youngest child of Arvell and Marie Shaw. During her primary and adolescent years, she attended Cottonwood Elementary, Casa Grande Junior High and Casa Grande Union High schools and graduated in 1990. Throughout the years she was a Girl Scout and played Little League, volleyball, softball and basketball. In 1991, she had her only child. Later in 1996, she moved to Phoenix, where she met the love of her life, Ronnie Jones, and married on July 10, 1998.
Although she was diagnosed with lupus in 2009, she kept her spirit strong and was very optimistic. She obtained her pharmacy certification and began working as a pharmacy technician at Walgreens. As she moved up the career ladder she was promoted to lead charge and audit tech and worked the last 15 years at Banner Baywood Medical Hospital in Mesa.
She had a love for music, ate tacos nearly every day and was a diehard Philadelphia Eagles fan. Her pride and joy were her three grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents Leonard and Jessie Daniels; her parents; and two brothers, Frankie and Darrell Gulley. Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Brina Anderson of Phoenix; three sisters, Trina Gulley and Beverly Scott of Casa Grande and Tonya Martin of Phoenix; a brother, Quintin Gulley of Stockton, California; and three grandchildren.
Visitation will be held at 11am with service 12pm on Saturday August 24, 2019 at Gardens Chapel. Burial to follow at Mt View Cemetery.
