CASA BLANCA - Dexter Malcolm Lewis Sr., 64, died on May 28, 2015, at Hu Hu Kam Memorial Hospital in Sacaton.
The wake will begin at 6 p.m. Friday at the Lewis home. The funeral will be at 6 a.m. Saturday at Vah-Ki Presbyterian Church, with Lorenzo Coops officiating. Burial will be in Vah-Ki Cemetery.
Mr. Lewis was born on Nov. 19, 1950, in Sacaton. He was a burn specialist for Waste Management and was a hard worker who looked after his family, extended family and friends. He knew each family member in a special way and was very loving and caring. He loved going to casinos and playing pool and was an Arizona Wildcats fan and involved in dialysis functions. He loved dinners with all his family.
Survivors include a daughter, Michelle Lyons of Sacaton; four sons, Daniel Lewis Sr. and Michael Lewis of Sacaton, Dexter Lewis Jr. of Casa Blanca and Timothy Jackson of Casa Grande; a brother, Cornelius Lewis of Bapchule; seven grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Coops; a daughter, Thelma Lewis; a sister, Elviria Yucupicio; a brother, Dennis Lewis; and his parents, Timothy Lewis and Thelma Rhodes.
