Dian V. Molsen

September 27, 1944 — September 4, 2015

Dian V. Molsen passed away suddenly on September 4th, 2015 just 23 days short of her 71st birthday. Dian was born September 27, 1944, in Chicago, Illinois. After a brief time living in Hartford, Connecticut, the family moved to Wheaton, Illinois, where she lived until she went to graduate school. It was here she acquired her amazing faith, attending Glen Ellyn Covenant Church with her family.

She was accepted into Wheaton College where she did her undergraduate studies in Biology and then attended Northern Illinois University where she received her Masters in Microbiology. Upon graduation she stayed at Northern to teach graduate students and do research in Electron Microscopy. She was loved by staff and students alike and stayed in touch with many of her students through her retirement years. All through these years she grew her faith.

When she retired in 2000, she moved to Casa Grande to be with her parents, Gordon and Violet Molsen. She traveled with them in their motor home to Washington and California to visit her brother and sister, and also throughout the western states. Dian joined the Trinity Southern Baptist Church where she shared her amazing faith and charity with all who knew her. She was known for her great sense of humor, kind spirit, and ability to make whomever she was speaking with feel like they had important things to say. She listened not only with her ears, but with her heart as well.

Throughout her life, she also had a love for animals, especially her cat, Piewacket, who was a beloved companion for 23 years.

After being the sole caregiver for her mother Violet Mosen, who passed away in March 2015, she rejoined her church family and started teaching

the adult Sunday School class to rave reviews. She also donated to many charities, and in 2014 with her generous donation, a school in Uganda was built that now bears her dad’s name, "Gordi’s School House."

Survivors include her sister, Deborah Ball of San Diego; her brother, Bradford Molsen of North Bend, Washington; three nephews, Collin Ball, Matthew Ball and Devon Molsen; and one niece, Elizabeth Molsen Case.

She will be sorely missed by all.

A memorial service is planned for January 2016, when all who knew and loved her can attend. J. Warren Funeral Services, Cole & Maud The Gardens Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.
