Diane Marie Skinner

Diane Marie Skinner, 52, of Strawberry died May 8, 2007.

A private service is planned.

Mrs. Skinner was born in Rockford, Ill. She began a career as a pastry chef in Stuart, Fla., and later worked at the San Marcos Hotel & Restaurant in Chandler. She worked at Black Bear Restaurant, now called the Mongolian Steak House & Lounge, in Strawberry for about 13 years before leaving to care for her ill husband, EV, who died in 2005. She liked to sew, garden, camp, hang out with friends and read lots of books.

Survivors include a son, Charles "Chuck" Rogers of Strawberry, and a brother, Wayne Wendt of Rockford. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Betty Wendt; a sister, JoAnn Pomering; and two brothers, Steve and Mike Wendt.
