Donald E. "Don" Bennett, 68, of Wasilla, Alaska, and a winter resident of Arizona, died on Feb. 28, 2014, at Hospice Family Care in Casa Grande.
Mr. Bennett was born on Feb. 13, 1946, in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, and was a son of Albert E. and Murray Griffiths Bennett. He served four years in the U.S. Navy and was a veteran of the Vietnam War. He was an engineer for the city of Anchorage, Alaska, and retired after 30-plus years. A life member of Good Sam RV Club, he was state director for Alaska for four years.
Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Carol Ann; a son, Eric Bennett of Tempe; a daughter, Kathryn Russell of Anchorage; a brother, Douglas Bennett of Hawaii; a sister, Patricia Cuttle of Hendersonville, N.C.; and two grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother, Michael Bennett.
A private service was planned.
