CASA GRANDE - Donald Ray Fraley, 70, of Gilbert died on Nov. 4, 2017, in Phoenix.

Mr. Fraley was born on Feb. 27, 1947, in Tempe to Roy and Edith (Johnson) Fraley. He grew up primarily in Coolidge, but his parents were migrant workers who traveled between Arizona, Utah, Oregon and Washington. He joined the Army and entered service on May 13, 1966. He served in both Korea and in Vietnam as a track vehicle mechanic. After eight years, eight months and 18 days of faithful service to his country, he left the Army and was honorably discharged.
He resumed civilian life and initially returned to Casa Grande in 1975. After working at various jobs, he started a second career with the Toltec Elementary School District, where he worked for 30 years as a facilities maintenance technician and later supervisor. He retired from the district on July ‎28, ‎2009.
He was a devout Christian who loved God and served Jesus as his personal savior. He was a co-founding member of Fountains of Living Water Pentecostal Church, which was established in Eloy. He loved sharing scripture with friends and family and stood fast in his faith in God. He would rarely get discouraged and always had a positive outlook on life, constantly encouraging others. His unselfish devotion to God, his family and his many friends inspired those who knew him.

He is survived by a brother, John Lee Fraley of Texas; a sister, Patricia Thompson of California; four adult children, Marc and Ardis Fraley of Mesa, Lori Reinhardt and Martin Fraley of Gilbert; 14 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
