Donna Faye Speer, 77, of Casa Grande died on Dec. 27, 2010, at home.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at J. Warren Funeral Services, Cole & Maud The Gardens Chapel and also beginning at 8 a.m. Friday at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Kortsen Building. The service of remembrance will follow at 9, with Bishop Bryant Ridgway officiating. Burial will be in Thatcher.
Mrs. Speer was born on March 21, 1933, in Thatcher and was a daughter of C.E. and Ruby Hughes. She was a homemaker. She enjoyed travel, gardening, hunting and water skiing. She and her husband went on five LDS church missions: two times to Quebec, Canada, and once each to Jamaica, England and Cove Fort, Utah. She loved her Chihuahua, Poncho.
Survivors include four daughters, Patty Weaver of Casa Grande, Joey Curtis of Mesa, Rose Fullmer of Peoria and Jeanie Kelly of Casa Grande; two sons, Frank Weaver Jr. of Lake Havasu City and Jay Weaver of Payson; a stepdaughter, Frances Dyer of Phoenix; two stepsons, Ray and Dean Speer of Phoenix; and 25 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas T. Speer; a stepson, Tom Speer; four brothers, Elmo, Jesse D., Frank and Ray K. Hughes; and four sisters, Eva Sutherlin, Delores Clifford, Naina LaForeft and Geraldine Hughes.
