Donnie Johnson

CASA GRANDE - Donnie Johnson, 87, of Casa Grande died peacefully on May 10, 2017, after a lengthy illness.
Mrs. Johnson was born on Nov. 4, 1929, in Los Angeles to Alla Mae and Joe A. Mote. Always enthralled with reading, she earned two degrees, including a master's from California State University, Fullerton. She had a long career as a reading specialist for elementary schools. When she wasn't working she could often be found reading, snow skiing, swimming, shopping or playing bridge with her friends.

In September 1950, she married the love of her life, Art Johnson. They lived together happily for many years in La Habra Heights and Valley Center, California, before settling in Casa Grande in the late 1980s. Art died in 2000 just after they celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary.

She is survived by a sister, Jo Ann Taylor of Thousand Oaks, California, and several nieces and nephews.
