Dorothea "Dora" Fernandez Mejia

CASA GRANDE - Dorothea "Dora" Fernandez Mejia, 82, of Casa Grande died on July 4, 2016.

Mrs. Mejia was born on Jan. 29, 1934, in Casa Grande to Felipe and Sotera (Menchaca) Fernandez. She was known for her strength and her avid shopping. She loved dressing up in her Sunday best for services at her local Baptist church.

She loved music and listening to the radio instead of watching television. She also enjoyed making big holiday meals for her family. She enjoyed her beloved dog, Buddy.

Survivors include two sisters, Josefina Sanchez and Jennie Galindo, as well as several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Camilo; a sister, Emeia Lopez; and two brothers, Felipe and Santiago Fernandez.

The memorial service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at J. Warren Funeral Services, Cole & Maud The Gardens Chapel. A short graveside service will follow in Mountain View Cemetery at 11:30.
