Dorothy Celaya

CASA GRANDE - Dorothy Celaya, 80, of Casa Grande died on Feb. 23, 2020, at home.

Ms. Celaya was born on Jan. 26, 1940, in Papalate Village, Tohono O'odham Nation, to Martin and Marie (Orosco) Celaya. She was a homemaker, seamstress and, according to her family, a joker and enjoyed writing letters.

Survivors include a son, Arnold Celaya, and four siblings, Ofelia Lopez, Alvenita Garcia, Irene Jose and Lily Manuel. She was preceded in death by a son, Ronald Celaya.

Funeral at 7 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 29, at Tohono O'odham Baptist Church near Casa Grande, followed by visitation at the Garcia home in Chuichu Village. Burial at noon in Ak-Chin Cemetery, Tohono O'odham Nation.
