Sister Dorothy Faye Ross was born June 3, 1948, to Jennie Mae Lucas and DJ Flowers in Gilmer, Texas. She graduated from North Salem High School and completed fours years at the University of Oregon.
Dorothy Faye greatly enjoyed spending time with her family, friends and being a member of Shiloh Baptist Church. Dorothy Faye had a tremendous heart, contagious smile, and the record for the most people's foot ran over by an electric wheelchair. Dorothy always had an open door to family and friends, providing a home where she raised many nieces and nephews. In her last months she was able to spend time with her children in her home, on the prayer line with Sister Scott and Cousin Mary. She loved bible study Wednesdays and playing bingo with her best friends, Dinease Wilson an Deloris Gray,
She leaves to cherish her memory two daughters, Felicia Wirfs of Phoenix, Arizona, and Tierra Ross of Salem, Oregon, and one son, Tyrone Burton of Salem, Oregon. She also leaves one brother, John Lucas of Salem, Oregon, sisters Doris Harris of Salem, Oregon, Brenda Richardson of Casa Grande, Arizona, Bobby Ann Maxwell of Salem, Oregon, and Precious Horton of Dallas, Texas. She will lovingly be remembered by 7 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
She is precede in death by her parents, one daughter, Rosalind Bundage, three brothers, Coy Reed, Dennis Lucas, and Bob Flowers and a sister, Maxine Smith.
