Dorothy Vaughn

COOLIDGE — Dorothy Vaughn, 74, of Coolidge died on July 19, 2011.
Visitation will begin at 9 a.m. Saturday at New Hope Community Church of God in Christ. The funeral will follow at 10, with Pastor Steve White officiating. Burial will be in Valley Memorial Park.
Mrs. Vaughn was born on Sept. 17, 1936, in Edmondson, Ark., to Grandville and Missoura Waterford and was the last of her generation to survive from their family of 10. She accepted Christ at an early age and attended school in Arkansas. In 1959 she and her family moved to Arizona. She worked in a textile factory for a while and then went to work at the Arizona Training Program at Coolidge. She remained there for 34 years and was a habilitation technician II.
She was a member of New Hope Community Church of God in Christ and enjoyed helping her church wherever she was needed. She also enjoyed spending time with her family, friends and animals.
Survivors include her husband of 59 years, Arvie Vaughn Sr.; four daughters, Patricia Vaughn of Chandler, Visa Vaughn of Phoenix, Brittany Vaughn of Coolidge and Murline Vaughn of Mesa; eight sons, Vernon, Roy, Gerald, Ricky, Randy and David Vaughn, all of Coolidge, Jerry Vaughn of Bakersfield, Calif., and Anthony Vaughn of Los Angeles; 41 grandchildren; 50 great-grandchildren; and 11 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Dorothy L. Cade; two sons, Arvie Vaughn Jr. and Grandville Vaughn; and a grandson, Ronnie Hursey Jr.
J. Warren Funeral Services, Cole & Maud Coolidge Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
