Douglas Frederick Rubio, 45, of Florence died on Nov. 18, 2017, at home.
Mr. Rubio was born on Nov. 13, 1972, in Casa Grande to Patrick and Pauline (Lewis) Rubio. He loved listening to all kinds of music. His favorite baseball team was the Chuichu Reds, and he also was a Cardinals fan.
He enjoyed cooking for his family and friends. As a hobby he would draw in Native art, which always included a feather.
Survivors include his fiancee, Virginia Yazzie of Queen Creek; six daughters and sons, Araya A. Rubio of Florence, Cory Rubio of Queen Creek, Jasmina Rubio of Queen Creek, Anna Lisa Rubio of Queen Creek, Jalen Rubio of Queen Creek and Kylie Rubio of Queen Creek; his father and stepmother, Olivia Rubio of Florence; three siblings, Lynette Ortiz of Globe, Davina Rubio of Chuichu and Trevor Rubio of Florence; and four grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his mother.
Funeral Mass celebrated at 4 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 27, at St. Augustine Catholic Mission in Chuichu, with wake following at the Rubio home in Chuichu. Burial at sunrise Tuesday, Nov. 28, at Chuichu South Cemetery.
