Earl Hoing

May 20, 1939 — May 25, 2015

Earl Hoing of Casa Grande died on May 25, 2015, shortly after his 76th birthday, losing a hard-fought battle against several health problems.

Mr. Hoing was a son of Carl and Daisy (Hofer) Hoing. He graduated from high school in Garwin, Iowa, and received a bachelor’s degree in marketing from University of Northern Iowa. He later acquired an advanced degree in business management. After spending 22 years with Farm Credit Services in Omaha, he moved to Arizona and worked for Circle K Company for 15 years. He later fulfilled a dream to work with his good friend Larry as a chuckwagon cook on trail rides in Wyoming’s Grand Teton National Park.

He had many enjoyments including camping, music, reading, public speaking and Arizona Wildcats basketball games. He was a self-proclaimed barbecue master and shared great smoked ribs with his friends and family. He and his wife of 56 years, Janice (Koester) Hoing, had three sons, Robert, Gregory and Steven. His greatest enjoyment was with his extensive family.

Survivors include his wife; a brother, Edward; his children; grandchildren; and great-grandchildren.

The memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Sunwest Resort Village clubhouse. Burial with graveside memorial will be later in Gladbrook, Iowa.

Memorial contributions may be made to Harmony Hospice of Casa Grande.

J. Warren Funeral Services, Cole & Maud The Gardens Chapel was in charge of arrangements.
