SACATON - Edmund Leroy "Lee" Thompson, 80, died on March 18, 2020, surrounded by family and friends.
Mr. Thompson was born on March 28, 1939, in Sacaton and was a son of Nathan Thompson Jr. and Edith Huckabay. He worked for the Gila River Indian Community in various positions as an administrator. He was an alumnus and a huge fan of the University of Arizona.
He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, reading, watching sports, gardening and traveling.
Survivors include his wife, Janet Donahue; a daughter, Mary E. Thompson of Sacaton; a sister, Pamela Thompson of Stotonic; 13 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Lucille Bread Thompson; three brothers, Gary, Richard and Johnathan Thompson; four sons, Edmund Thompson Jr., Shawn, Stephen and Paul Thompson; and a great-granddaughter, Mariah Johns.
Visitation from 3 to 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, March 24, at the District 3 Service Center.
